TRAGICOMEDIA BY MADDIE GWINN, A FILMMAKER BETWEEN WORLDS

Maddie is from Seattle, USA and is engaged with youth culture and geopolitics of ex-socialist republics. She has lived between the US and Europe since 2017, building film communities in Kosovo, Czech Republic, Italy, and has travelled the world for branded projects including in Saudi Arabia and Japan.

Her creative work bridges American and European audiences, having led a US-Germany co-production team with Academy-Award Winning executive producers for her directorial debut Palace of Youth, which won the Dokufest Audience Award. Previous projects have shown at festivals including Hot Docs, BFI London, Dok.fest Munich, & Festival dei Popoli.

She is a Telly award-winning branded travel content director and editor, having worked on non-fiction shorts with Ford, the Hawaiian Islands, Visit Britain & other DMOs.
